Another Month Almost Gone….

Well another month is almost over, February is nearing a end. That means only another 2 months until my Graduation from College its hard to believe that almost 3 years have passed since I left high school.

I have applied for a few jobs over the pass weeks, and have had an interview for one. Hoping for a job soon.

I will be heading to New Orleans the end of April for sure now, its looking like April 26 – May 10. I am also considering Indy from the 10 – 17 or there abouts.

School is going good, there is a fair amount of work, but its almost over now.

I have decided that I will be moving out of my present apartment, the end of April, and moving back to Norman’s Cove for at least the month of May, depending on the location of my job, I will other move back to the city or live home. I am hoping to get a job near home so I don’t have to rent an apartment.

If I do have to move back to the City I will live on the outskirts, Torbay, Flatrock, Paradise,  somewhere off the grid, where rent is cheaper.

Can’t wait to get back to New Orleans, doing some hands on work, it’s going to be a great trip. Hopefully we can get a big group down this time, its looking like at least 15 people or so now.

- Cheers

Snow Day

So we finally got a snow day, its about time seeing the storms we had this year in which we beat our way to and from school. The College finally made the right decision to close, along with most of the city, Mun, the Avalon Mall, Confederation Building, most stores, all banks, all schools, everything is closed.

100_4644This is our driveway in St. John’s 9:30 this morning.

There’s a nice bit of snow down already, and a fair bit to come, lots of shoveling tonight.

Heading out home tomorrow, ahead of the storm on Friday. I have first aid training all weekend with the Fire Dept. Busy weekend, I'd say, back to town sometime Sunday Night, weather permitting.

Next weekend I am heading home again, the Buy and Sell Magazine, is hosting a ice fishing derby on Dildo Pond in Blaketown. Chance to win a trip to Cuba, or lots of other stuff. should be fun.

The presentation to the Fry Family on Monday went great, lots of positive feedback.

Only 2 months and I’ll be graduated, from Civil Engineering Technology, and starting work, can’t wait. I’ll be moving home to Norman’s Cove sometime over Easter holidays, and driving back and forth for the last week or so. Cause i wont have time to  move after exams are done, because I’ll be gone to New Orleans/Indy for a trip before i start work.

Happy Snow Day.

Its Been a While…Update

Well it’s been quite some time since I wrote a blog eatery, its about time to. A few updates:

New Orleans – Well its confirmed I'll be heading back there in Late April – Early May, its looking right now as if it is all ago, well be replacing sidewalks, curb and gutter, throughout the Broadmoor neighborhood. A possibly a Hurricane Katrina Memorial, along Napoleon Ave. Our report is going great, we have most of the research component complete, and we’ll start on design work soon. The plan is to make minor changes to the design prepared last year, and design a new paring lot for the community located on the grounds of the Rosa Keller Library, as well as General Pershing St. This well  greatly improve the community.

We have had meetings with the college executive last week about the project, they’re quite excited about the work College of The North Atlantic is doing there, and well continue to do.

Trip – So mentioned above I'll be going to New Orleans in May, and stop in to visit family in Indy on the way back.

Grad – Only a few months away, and I'll be graduating from the Civil Engineering Technology program, and entry the work force, job opportunities look great with lots of jobs coming up the Long Harbour area, with Inco set to start construction of their 2.4 billion dollar hydro-met plant this April.

Weather -  this winter is the shits, big snow, 3 days of rain, extreme cold, equals lots of ice, no snow. I haven't got a  good run on skidoo yet, and we couldn’t start snow sculptures this past week as planned, but we will, if its snows.
