Well the past few weeks have been quite busy for me, finishing up college, preparing for the New Orleans Mission, moving back to Norman’s Cove, buying a new car, and getting a job.
Well I guess to start, I will be done my Civil Engineering Technology diploma on April 24th! A class party will sure follow, I am pretty excited to be done, its been a long three years, and a lot of work, but it all pays off in the end. I have been offered a job with CBCL Consulting Engineers in St. John’s, the job seems excellent, and have accepted the offer. I plan to drive back and forth to St. John’s at least for the time being, well see what happens later on.
That leads, me to the new car, my old car, the ford contour has seen better days, and is no longer sensible to drive for much longer, the unibody is rusted, and the car is getting old, and starting to cause more trouble then it is worth. So my options were to buy used or new, after test driving a few cars, and pricing some, I found it was more worth wild to buy new, the price is basically the same, but with new I am maintenance free!! that can save a lot of money. So I have purchased a 2009 Pontiac G5, getting it on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on when it is ready. Its going to be nice to drive a new car, and not the old contour.
I moved back home to Norman’s Cove this past weekend it was really the only chance I had to move, next week I have final exams, and that weekend April 26 I leave for New Orleans. Its nice to be home, it is also going to save me some money.
I leave for New Orleans on April 26th, and I will be gone until May 10th, its going to be a great trip, doing some volunteer work in the Broadmoor neighborhood, we will be placing surveying monuments, and replacing curb/gutter and sidewalk. We also have a few fun activities planned, I hope to head into the bayou, on a swamp tour, as well as other activities, I will post as may blogs as I can while there, probably wont be many, I will be quite busy.
I must head off to bed now, quite tired after a weekend of moving,
